Two more people have been arrested in connection with a theft at Heathrow Airport in which 21 people sustained injuries by what is thought to be pepper spray, as stated by police.

A man, 24, was arrested in the Lambeth area on suspicion of theft and assault and a woman, 23 was detained on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals are still being held, the force said.

These detentions come after a probe into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the attack, two women were robbed of their luggage upon exiting a parking garage elevator.

A three-year-old girl was among the those hurt during the incident. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for treatment and have since been released.

Police detained a 31-year-old man on suspicion of robbery and assault close to the location. He was subsequently released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.

Authorities were alerted at about 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding several individuals hurt by a noxious substance believed to be pepper spray.

The assault - an event that police said was a standalone incident and not being treated as an act of terror - resulted in delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility for a short time.
