Since the launch of the fourth campaign, fresh DM Brennan Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with extensive world-building, a diverse cast of personalities, and a thrilling plot including celestial beings, demons, and dark forces increasing in power within the urban setting.
Note: Revealing details for the third episode of the new season follow below.
The Soldiers Table Unveiled
The third episode ended with a huge suspense moment and introduced the initial group of adventurers who will branch out from the central cast to begin their independent quest, apart from the other two tables.
This warrior group includes Teor Pridesire (brought to life by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (Laura Bailey), the fierce warrior (Whitney), the cleric (the player), and Kattigan (Robbie).
Dividing the Cast
With 13 cast members, it was clear from the start that having everyone at one table would be impossible.
This explains, the initial installments of this story serve as an Prelude, connecting the personal journeys before branching into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Strategists, and Questers.
What Defines the Soldiers Table
As described by the DM, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who are drawn to a typically action-packed combat and conflict-driven story mode where non-violent answers are scarce.
Initially, characters like the reluctant priest the cleric might appear mismatched, but the events of the third episode demonstrate why these specific adventurers are perfectly fit for the combat party.
Motivations for Departure
First, the team has a clear idea where to go next after a brutal opening clash with the antagonists.
A former ally of Thjazi Fang—whose demise kicked off the narrative’s action—exploited the enemy for his own means, entering the hidden lair, attacking the rogue, and taking all the powerful objects to sell off.
The antagonist then paid off his obligations and ran away to a fortified location in Gormalay, Timmony, north of the urban center, with Cyd Pridesire hot on his heels.
Character Drivers
Additionally, each adventurer has a personal reason to exit Dol-Makjar:
- The rogue, as the companion and trusted friend, seeks revenge.
- The knowledgeable figure is familiar with Timmony and cautions that it is a nasty place.
- The strong character and The cleric, having defied his house’s orders to execute the fighter and instead rescued him, have nowhere else to go.
- However, their status as key figures in the powerful family could enable the team reach places they usually can’t.
- Moreover, Teor vowed a unbreakable promise to The cleric for his rescue and will now accompany him anywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
Lastly, all of them are wanted by the powers that control the setting for a range of causes, making remaining behind no longer safe:
- The rogue and Kattigan are notorious outlaws.
- The warrior and Wicander turned against House Halovar and the army of fiends they are aligned with.
- The target is marked for death by the clan.
This leaves them little choice but to journey toward Timmony in pursuit of Casimir.

Based on the latest episode’s Cooldown, we discover that the warrior group will be absent the following episode, leaving the other eight players to round up the Explorers and Strategists parties.
